Ana’s journey as a language teacher began unexpectedly at just 19 years old.
While taking a year away from college and studying English in Mexico City, she was selected from among her classmates and invited by the school’s director to become an English teacher. What started as an unexpected opportunity became the beginning of a 30+ year relationship with languages, teaching, and human connection.
Over the years, Ana returned to college to study Hispanic Literature, continued exploring languages from both sides of the classroom, and built experience working with two leading language education companies.
Her perspective as both a teacher and a lifelong language student has shaped the way she teaches today.
Ana understands firsthand that learning a language is about much more than vocabulary and grammar. It is about gaining the confidence to express yourself, understand others, and form meaningful connections.
That belief became the foundation of her teaching philosophy:
“Helping people connect in Spanish.”
Ana sees language as a doorway into another culture, another community, and often another side of yourself. Her role is to help students open that door and feel comfortable walking through it.
Her specialty is communication.
Rather than overwhelming students with grammar explanations or endless rules to memorize, Ana helps them discover how Spanish works by actually using it. Lessons are designed to make the language feel practical, relevant, and alive.
The goal is not simply to know Spanish. It is to speak it, understand it, use it naturally, and connect with the people around you.
Because learning a language opens the door. Communication is what allows you to walk through it.
Erick Fabila
Spanish Teacher
With 30 years of experience teaching English and Spanish, Erick has been helping students find their voice in a new language since 1996.
Throughout his career, he has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer, and instructor in children’s language programs, including 18 years with one of Mexico’s leading language education companies. He has taught students of different ages and experience levels, always with the same goal: helping them move beyond simply knowing the language and become more comfortable actually using it.
Erick’s relaxed, friendly personality is an important part of the way he teaches. From the beginning, he creates an environment where students can speak, make mistakes, ask questions, laugh, and keep moving forward without feeling self-conscious.
For Erick, language learning is about communication. Rather than focusing only on memorization, he helps students develop the confidence to express themselves more naturally and use Spanish in real conversations.
Outside the classroom, Erick is passionate about rock and pop vinyl records, baseball and football, a good cup of coffee, and catching a great movie or play. He also loves being a host and making the people around him feel comfortable and welcome.
That same warmth carries into his lessons.

Mariana Rojas
Spanish Teacher
Mariana is a Spanish, Italian, and English teacher, designer, and illustrator. She grew up in Mexico City and moved to Italy at 18, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from Istituto Marangoni in Milan.
She began teaching fashion illustration at around 28, where she worked with international students and taught in English and Italian as well as Spanish. She later began teaching Italian to students preparing for study-abroad programs in Italy, and continued teaching languages alongside her work as a designer and illustrator.
Her teaching style is practical, creative, and conversation-focused, helping students communicate naturally and confidently. For Mariana, learning a language is about much more than grammar—it’s a way to connect with people, discover cultures, and find new ways to express yourself.
